I haven’t written a post before regarding my top 5 binge worthy Netflix shows, so I thought I’d do one now since I’ve actually been watching Netflix a lot at the moment! I’m not sure why I’ve been watching Netflix so much lately.. Probably to take my mind off the endless Dissertation writing and the endless anxiety whenever I find myself over-thinking about life after university.
PSA: Some of the shows I mention in this post may not have come out in 2019, but I watched them in 2019.
Nevertheless, here’s my top 5 binge worthy Netflix shows of 2019:
Brooklyn 99
It;s safe to say that 2019 is the year me and my boyfriend have absolutely binge watched Brooklyn 99!
The wittiness and humour portrayed throughout this show is the perfect combination for a binge-worthy Netflix show. I love everything the show stands for, such as LGBTQ+ rights, #blacklivesmatter, feminism and everything inbetween. It does a great job at showing the difference between good cops and bad cops. I highly recommend this show if you’re looking for something hilarious that still tackles social issues so effortlessly.
You
If you haven’t yet watched ‘You‘ on Netflix, where have you been living?
It’s probably one of the biggest binge worthy Netflix shows of 2019 – literally everyone was talking about it at one point! Full of twists and turns, the show follows the main character ‘Joe’ and his obsession with a woman he has a strong attraction to. It’s unbelievably creepy but so good!

The Sinner
The Sinner has got to be the best show I’ve watched throughout 2019.
The first few minutes were so gripping and enticing, I literally binged the whole first season in a day. I just couldn’t walk away from it! Every single episode unravelled another secret that you never would have guessed. The first episode does have a lot of blood though, so if you don’t like blood (I don’t) just be aware of that. You have to watch this show! Having said that, I haven’t yet watched season 2 as apparently it’s nowhere near as good as season 1, unfortunately.
Friends
Okay, so I obviously had to include Friends in this post.
I’ve watched this incredible, heartwarming, cosy show my whole life, but I just can’t not mention it in a Netflix post. This show is great for when I’m bored, sad, happy, angry.. literally any emotion. If you don’t like Friends, I really don’t have anything more to say to you. You need to get to know!
Unbelievable
This show, Unbelievable, was… unbelievably incredible. See what I did there?! Ok, I’ll never do that again…
So, you may have seen some opinions I had whilst watching it over on my Twitter, so I won’t simply reiterate what I’ve already said. What I will say is that everyone needs to watch this show. I found it did an outstanding job as portraying how the police should deal with rape cases and how they shouldn’t.
So, there we have it! My top 4 binge-worthy Netflix shows of 2019.I often speak about what Netflix shows I’m loving over on my Instagram and Twitter, so make sure to check me out over there if you’re interested! What shows have you been loving throughout the year? Let me know down in the comments. <3
Have you just started blogging and want to learn more about how to get more blog traffic and maybe even monetise your blog?! This £10 blogging course (affiliate link) has taught me so much about blogging that I had no idea about, and I’ve been a blogger for over a year. Don’t miss out! 🙂
Hey thanks ?…I was wondering yesterday what to watch next…
No worries! Hope you found my suggestions helpful. 🙂
Brooklyn 99 is the best! I adore Andy Samberg and it’s one of the only series I’ve actually stuck with – we rarely watch TV, so it must be good!
It’s so funny – it’s definitely one of mine and my boyfriend’s all time favourite shows!
Thank you for this post. I live in Canada so some of the shows available are different but I have been home sick and looking for shows to watch. I love Brooklyn 99 and Friends and have been watching them but now I am going to try You and Unbelievable, it seems we have access to them here in Canada as well. Great reviews!
Unbelievable is a must-watch! Friends & Brooklyn 99 are my go to comedies for when I’m feeling down. Glad you enjoyed my post!! 🙂 x
Friends I have already watched the whole boxset years and years before it even came on Netflix. My mum had the boxset on vhs (video!) so I have been watching since I was young.
I have only recently watched You and I loved it! Can’t wait for the next season xx
Me too! It’s the best, isn’t it? I’m so excited for the next season of ‘You’ too – I hope it’s good! x
I have loved and devoured The Dragon Prince (corruption always eggs me on, and how I hate the little ghost elf), Schitt’s Creek, which follows the life of a rich family suddenly reduced to living in a slow slum town, and Grace and Frankie; two women are shocked when their husbands divorce them to marry each other.
The last two are purely for laughs; I need laughs at the end of my day and often stay up till midnight giggling and eating apples. Good shows are hard to come by and it is always sad when they end. I shall have to check your suggestions out!
Oooh – I’m always up for anything that makes me laugh! I’ll definitely check the last two out. 🙂 x
Apart from Friends, I haven’t actually seen (or heard of!) Any of these. But I’m always looking for new TV shows to watch, so thank you for the suggestions.
Brooklyn 99 is incredibly and *almost* as good as Friends! I’d definitely recommend giving it a go. 🙂 x
We only started watching Brooklyn 99 last year and it’s amazing! So funny and like you said they don’t shy away from talking about important issues – I can’t wait for the new season! Xx
I absolutely love it! Such a funny and important show 🙂 x
Yes. These are good shows to watch on Netflix during this isolation season. Thank you for sharing.
They’re so easy to get into and so interesting! Thank you for your lovely comment 🙂 x
I have never heard of The Sinner, i will check that out for sure. Thank you for the recommendations.
It is INCREDIBLE! I 100% recommend it as something to love and binge watch quickly x
The best show I’ve ever seen in all my life is The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. It’s so beautiful and well done in every sense of the term. Absolutely insane show. Highly recommend 5/5 stars
I never actually watched that as I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to scary shows haha! I’ve heard absolutely amazing things about it though 🙂
To be honest, I have only seen you and I loved it! Can’t wait for the next season.
It’s an amazing TV show, isn’t it?!
You was SO addictive wasn’t it? I can’t wait for season 3!
I’m just on the last series of The Sinner now and I watched the first two seasons in two days haha!
