How are you all finding lockdown? After a month, I’d honestly say I’m feeling pretty used to it at this point. As I’m writing this, it’s exactly one month since I’ve last seen my boyfriend though, which has definitely been the hardest part for me. I think it’s safe to say we’re all pretty bored at the moment though, so I thought I’d share my honest and realistic quarantine routine with you guys to give you some inspiration on things to do throughout the day when you can’t leave the house! This is going to be a kinda different routine to many you may have seen, as it’s completely honest, which means there are a lot of things I have to work on…
Honest and realistic quarantine routine
3pm – wake up
OK… You don’t need to say it – I know this is something I need to work on. This is the most shameful part of my honest and realistic quarantine routine. My sleeping pattern is absolutely wrecked right now and if I could be one of those people who wakes up at even 11am, trust me, I would! I’m struggling a lot with being able to sleep at night lately due to the usual overthinking x10 and missing my boyfriend, which in turn means I’m waking up later.
As you will see throughout this post, waking up at this time completely messes up my meal times and what time I get everything done – which means I end up stopping work even later so it’s even harder for me to fall asleep early… I’m clearly trapped in a cycle guys… help! I’m trying to wake up one hour earlier each day from now on, so I’ll keep you updated on how that goes over on my Twitter.
3:30 – Go for an hour walk
During my honest and realistic quarantine routine, I tend to go straight for a long walk to see some nature, get some fresh air and, of course, get my steps in on my fit bit. The reason I go straight away, after doing my skin care and brushing my teeth, is because if I don’t do it as soon as possible then I never will! I’d rather get my walk over with earlier on so I can get on with uni work, blogging and reading for the rest of the day without having my low step counter looming over me…
Also, not to mention that walking as soon as I wake up really does start my day right. It helps to clear my mind and gives me time to think over what the day is going to consist of. So, I basically mentally create my daily to-do list on my ‘morning walk! I think it works well this way, as creating a to-do list the night before never seems to work for me as I always change what I do that day depending on my mood… Oops?!

4:00 – social media tasks
This part takes up the maority of my honest and realistic quarantine routine. Once I’m back from my walk, I usually sit down on my couch or at my desk and get started on my social media tasks. I usually post something to Instagram, catch up on all my comments and comment on other people’s photos, as well as updating my Instagram stories with something fun! I’ve been working hard to improve my Instagram at the moment, which I have a post on called How To DOUBLE Your Instagram Following in 6 Months to help you guys progress and grow too!
I also usually catch up on blog comments at this time – returning some and replying to all. After I’ve done all this, I will check my E-Mails and reply to any I need to. This all seems minute when I type it out, but it takes forever! I may write a blog post in this time too, but usually I save that for night time when I’m lay in bed relaxing, as blog post writing is like a hobby that I enioy.
5:00 – breakfast/lunch
My Quarantine daily routine usually means I have breakfast/lunch at about 5pm, as I’ve been awake for around 2 hours at this point and am just starting to get peckish, especially after my long walk! For lunch, I usually have something that’s quick and easy o make and not too filling. This will either be sandwiches, pasta or just something from Quorn that I can shove in the oven with chips (healthy queen). On the other hand, if I decide to have a more breakfast based meal, I will usually have something featured in my 3 Healthy Breakfast Ideas post.
I really want to get more into soups as they’re super easy and quick to cook for lunch! I love Heinz cream of tomato soup, so I’ll have to ask my dad to get me some on his next food shop. If you’re an avid soup lover and looking for something to add a little more flavour, I’d definitely recommend reading my post How to Add Schwartz Turmeric Powder to Vegetable Soup, as it tastes amazing!
5:30 – uni work
After a quick lunch break, I usually get to start on my dissertation. I’ve pretty much finished it now, so I just carry on putting it all together and proof reading it. I also have a 2,000 word essay due in soon, so I’ll be starting that soon too. My dissertation hand in is due on the 10th April, so once I have my grade back I’ll definitely be doing a post letting you guys know my diss top tips! Until then, you can read my Third Year University Update.
If you’re also a university/college/school student, I have a post on my University Stationary Haul & Favourites if you’d like to check that out for some ideas and inspiration! Uni work takes forever so I usually get this done from 5:30 – 7:30, and then it’s tea time!

7:30 – tea
I pretty much always have my ta at around 7:30. I usually have Quorn sausages with mash and peas, or Quorn nuggets with hash browns and broccoli.. things like that! I always have some veg with my meals to give me energy and stay healthy. I also looooove veg – especially broccoli haha!
If you’re looking for some new food to try, check out my Vegan/Vegetarian Food Brands I Love blog post for some great recommendations! It’s always fun to mix your meals up every now and again, right?
8 – read and relax
From 8pm onwards, I usually read my book and face time my boyfeiend! I love reading at night as it is the ultimate relaxation and gives me a chance to escape from real-life and live vicariously through a character for a while.
I spoke in my February-March Reading Wrap-Up about some of my fave book – so definitely check that out for some fab recommendations! This is probably my favourite bit odf my whole quarantine daily routine, so I love it when it comes around!
So, there’s my honest and realistic quarantine routine! What is yours? <3

I love reading through people’s daily routines. I would honestly love to be able to sleep in till 3pm haha the latest I can go is about 9.30am.
I love how you still manage to get a lot of work done! go you girl xx
Oh how I wish I was like you, haha! Having an early start would be so great for my mental health and productivity but it seems impossible during Quarantine! Thank you lovely 🙂 x
This honestly is really refreshing – there’s nothing wrong with having a different routine for normal. I love that you’re still really productive.
I’m so glad you’ve said that! I often feel guilty for having a weird sleeping pattern but at the end of the day I get my stuff done, so what’s wrong with it?! xx
I’ve been loving reading recent while on lockdown! I’ve spend so much money on iBooks!
-Kyra xx
I need to start looking at iBooks as my friend said they’re cheaper than physical reads and she gets through them so much quicker! I love having physical books but it’s so bad for the environment and soooo expensive 🙁 x
That’s an incredibly early start, that’s the time I normally go bed. In you didn’t state what time you go bed though, are you also going sleep early, like 21.00?
early start?! I wake up about 3 o clock in the after noon haha! and I go to sleep at about 8 in the morning haha x
I read that as 3am, not pm ha ha hs
Haha no worries:)
That hour walk sounds like a great habit! Hopefully your sleep improves over time. I’m working on tweaking my sleep habits right now, and I know it’s not easy.
It really helps me think through what I’m going to do in the day and makes sure I get my daily dose of fresh air! 🙂 x
I struggle with sleeping too but I always have that’s not just because of everything going on so I made sure I stuck to a routine of setting an alarm for 8am as soon as all this started and to be honest I’m usually up before that as there’s building work going on right behind my house so at least it’s kept me in a normal routine! I love reading before bed too, it really helps me relax.

Yeah it’s always been a huge struggle for me so it’s not even much to do with quarantine, only issue is that I don’t have to get up to go to work or uni so I don’t have a reason to get up. I wish I had your dedication to getting up early haha! Setting your alarm for 8am is an amazing idea gal x
Love the honestly in this!! We’ve been struggling waking up at a normal time too. Been rolling out of bed between 12-2pm everyday haha but it sounds like you have a great routine otherwise!
I’m so glad it’s not just me! There’s no shame in it when we’re in a global pandemic x
Honestly I can only imagine how difficult it must be being apart from your boyfriend, I couldn’t imagine being apart from my husband. Honestly finding your own way to cope, you will get through this.
Love, Amie ❤️

I miss him so much I have to just try not to think about it or I get very upset haha! Thank you so much lovely x
I’m the same when it comes to working out. I would rather get it done early in the morning and take the rest of the day to sort or relax. If I wait to do it later, it never happens.
It’s the best way isn’t it gal! x
My sleeping pattern is definitely messed up too! I am sleeping in until 10/11 so it’s not always good either. Thank you for sharing!
I’m glad it’s not just me gal haha! x
I love reading about people’s routines. I’ve been struggling to sleep at night too. Great post
Me too! It’s my all time fave thing to read so I thought I’d write my own haha, glad you enjoyed it hun x
Thank you for sharing, I love how honest you were! We’re currently flying by the seat of our pants and just focusing on having the same meal times and bedtimes haha
Thank you for reading! 🙂 x
I like how you’re being honest with your routine. I mean why lie about it, to begin with? This is real life lol. Oh man I wish I can wake up that late – it is hard because waking up at 7am has been ingrained in me. I like that you incorporate social media into the routine. I need to do a better job of this. Thanks for sharing your quarantine daily routine!
Nancy ♥
Thank you very much for your kind comment lovely! I wish I could wake up at 7am haha – should we switch?! x
Oh wow, I don’t even know what to say. My days are so different to yours. I work from home all the time so I’m up at my regular 8am ish right now. My mum is working from home in the house at the minute too and she usually starts working at about 8am so I occasionally wake up a little earlier than planned if I hear her moving about. But I only get to sleep between 3-4am (usual for me, I’m an awful sleeper) so I’m a little jealous you can sleep that late x
Sophie
Haha I’d much rather have your early start of a routine tbh! Must be a bit crap only getting to sleep so late and waking up early though x
Thank you for the honesty about your timings being out of whack! I think most of us are on the struggle bus when it comes to our sleeping habits. I also haven’t been waking up as early as I used to, and that’s something I want to work on.
Haha no worries girl! I’m just glad it’s not just me and looking to see if anyone else is the same haha x
Well, my day-t0-day hasn’t really changed. I work from home in the mornings and try and do some blog stuff in the afternoons. But I’m fitting in homeschooling for my daughter as well so if anything I’m even busier! I don’t recall the last time I slept in beyond about 9.00am but I think I probably kept similar hours to you do now when I was at uni too. Don’t worry though, you do what you need to do, it’ll sort out eventually – stay safe xx
To be honest, mine is pretty much the same as usual too! The only difference is that I can’t see my boyfriend (who I practically lived with before this) and I can’t go on the odd monthly night out. I hope you’re well my lovely x
I love reading people’s daily routines. No judgment here – you gotta do what works for you!
Me too gal! It’s so interesting to compare, isn’t it? I’m glad you enjoyed reading it lovely x
It sounds like you still have a productive day, even if you have a later start 🙂 Going out for a daily walk is such a good habit, even if haven’t done much all day, I always think just going out for some exercise is an achievement. I think we just have to find a routine that suits us and just take each day at a time. Stay safe lovely <3 xx
Bexa | http://www.hellobexa.com
I do try hard to make sure my days are productive and I cram everything into a short space of time haha! It’s worth it to sleep longer hahaha. You stay safe too my gal <3 x
You still manage to fit so much in despite the late start, that’s amazing. It’s so hard to keep any kind of routine when everything is chaotic, especially sleep patterns, so it’s amazing what you’re managing to get done.
Aw thank you lovely! 🙂 x
Love the honesty, wish I could sleep until 3pm, but my little baby loves to wake up at 6am on the dot everyday. I’ve been reading more too, it really is relaxing being able to escape and live through a character. What books are you planning on reading next?
Tx. // Tajinder Kaur
Ahhh I bet it keeps you productive having the early state though! x
It’s really nice to read a proper realistic lockdown routine without any sugar coating my love. It’s a good reminder that this is affecting people in so many different ways. xxx
I’m so glad to hear you say that! You’re right xx
When I saw 3pm, I thought I was mistaken lol. It doesn’t matter how late I sleep, I can’t even sleep past 10-11am. I’m trying to develop a routine. Believe or not, I’m actually trying to wake up earlier. I’ve been trying to train my body to wake up around 6-6:30am for months now because I want to get more things done in the day. So far I can wake up around 7am on my own without a clock so it’s progress…despite being super tired lol
Haha nope my sleeping pattern is very bad! I’m trying to wake up early but I’m struggling due to my mental health keeping me up so late at night. x
It’s interesting to see other people’s quarantine daily routines. I was waking up about 8-9 am before but now I am sleeping later till 11 or 12. However, I have not changed my bedtime much, it’s stayed about 11:30-12:30 at night. I really want to start walking as soon as I get up, it’s hard though trying to co-ordinate with my hubby. I could go without him but he keeps saying he wants to walk each day but then we can never agree on a time. Plus he is still working as he is considered an essential worker. I guess I have no excuses because if we don’t go before he goes to work I can go after but I don’t… I think I need a dog for motivation, my cat’s not really into walking lol. After getting up it’s kind of a free for all for me. I just do what I feel like doing or what needs to be done in no particular order. Organization and prioritizing has never been a strength of mine. I am starting university in a month so I need to work on that and soon. Procrastination at it’s finest. Not great for mental health/depression/anxiety.
11:30-12:30 is a great bed time – I’ll probably start aiming for that after quarantine when I have to start going back to normal life haha x
I’m reading your blocked times and noticed that you’re up for 5ish hours a day. When you go to bed at 8ppm, when is lights out? Do you stay up until 3AM like I do? I envy your 2hr schooldays. I’m the slowest writer ever so it takes me a very long time to complete assignments!
Haha, nooo! I chill in my room/on my bed around 8pm and then I’ll stay up watching youtube/replying to blog comments/reading until about 6am haha! Sorry, I probably should’ve explained better x
